We are looking for an Integration Engineer to join Kaiser Aluminum Operations in Spokane Washington!
The Integration Engineer (IE) plays a pivotal role in developing new systems, improving existing systems, and supporting mill operations. As a member of the Automation Team, the IE leads and participates in the design, planning, and execution of new control systems and the integration of new equipment and systems into the mill. Additionally, the IE actively contributes to Continuous Improvement initiatives by implementing projects, programming enhancements, and modernizing hardware. The IE serves as a subject matter expert in the mill's control systems, troubleshooting complex issues, diagnosing system interactions, and providing technical guidance on a wide range of components, from sensors to higher-level systems.
This position requires the ability to perform and multi-task in an ever-changing environment.

What you will work on:
- Extensive Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience/abilities, including:
- Control System Design: The individual should be able to design/develop/enhance new/existing heavy industrial production equipment systems. The hardware design elements include specification, ordering, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Allen-Bradley PLCs from PLC5 to current generation ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and GuardLogix. The software design elements include creating programs following standards and organizing and structuring programs, tasks, routines, tags, and UDTs. Creating, modifying, and maintaining PLC logic in structured text, sequential function charts, and ladder logic.
- PLC Code Development: The individual should be able to develop PLC logic from the text of a functional description, legacy logic, or stakeholder descriptions and create/edit/maintain/document logic to achieve safety, quality, production, reliability/supportability objects.
- Extensive Wonderware InTouch Human Machine Interface and Inductive Automation Ignition experience/abilities, including:
- Operator Interface Design from customer description or existing system, be able to design/develop/enhance new/current systems of heavy industrial production equipment. The hardware design elements include specification, ordering, configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting the hardware necessary to support operator interfaces, including stand-alone industrial computers, thin-clients, Zero Clients, RDP Clients, and legacy systems,
- HMI Code Development from the text of a functional description, legacy logic, or stakeholder description. Ability to create/edit/maintain/document logic to achieve safety, quality, production, reliability/supportability objects. Experience and competency with creating/editing/maintaining/documenting AVEVA/Archestra/Wonderware InTouch HMI versions 9.5 to 2020.
What you will bring to the position:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent automation relevant degree, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, automation focused Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics engineering.
- Five plus (5+) years related Manufacturing systems Engineering experience working directly for a manufacturing industry or systems integrator.
